Designer is an object-based (vector drawing) graphics program that can be used to produce images and visual models.
Drawings are made using objects such as lines, curves, shapes, freehand drawings and text. These objects can then be selected and manipulated in a number of ways: for example, rearrange them, change the colours or change the size.
The program directly supports the QCA ICT Unit 5A, ‘Graphical modelling’ and can be used for many types of activities such as labelling, banners, posters, plans, maps and science diagrams.
It can be used in many areas of the primary curriculum such as Design and Technology, Science and Geography, as well as aspects of the 'Measures, shape and space' area of the Numeracy strategy.
